Paris (2015)

 1 Train   4:05

We speed upon the track
We hear the even swoosh
Nearby trees flash by
Villages emerge and dissappear

We speed upon the track
We zoom past railway stations
We parallel the highway
And overtake all cars

We rapidly approach
The longed for aim of our journey

We speed upon he track
Towards the golden city
Which gives warmth to our hearts
Where we feel at home

2 Charlie   2:50

Satire is art
A mirror which contorts
What it presents might be
Offending and keen
Mature democracy
Stands for its critics
Freedom is precious
Worth to be pled

Paris is grey
In mourning today
Our values assaulted
Lives blown away
Mutual tolerance
Is in demand
Dissensions of religions
Justify no blood
One pencil is cracked in twain
So sharpen both pieces
One pencil, now they are two
Both will draw anew

Hans Maier - electric guitar, vocals
Harold Miller - electric guitar
Ludwig Sander - bass
Carl van der Keulen - piano, synthesizer
Arthur Belovic - drums and percussion

3 Happy Days   4:35

Fell in love with a girl
She is a queen, she is a pearl
She says that she had found me
Like a rare bird on a tree
Caught me with her charme and grace
Made me leave my pretty place

We got a child within a year
A painful birth with blood and tears
We married on a winter day
Snow and sunshine all the way
A perfect Yes, the kiss a dream
The finest marriage ever seen
All happy, family and freinds
We left them early, rode away
For another happy day

Ten years passed, now we are four
Girlies prosper, wanting more
We help them through the humdrum school
Which kills the genius, scotches the cool
Our home is our biotope
A nutshell on a sea of hope
We talk, we cook, we meet some friends
If we need more we ride away
For another happy day

Hans Maier - electric guitar, vocals
Harold Miller - electric guitar
Ludwig Sander - bass
Carl van der Keulen - piano, organ

4 Watch The Dead Walking   4:34

We watch them walk
Look at hteir clumsy feet
We hear them scream
We see them bite and feed

We watch them stride
Through fields and forest, along the streets
They stumble criss-cross
Attracted by any noise
They run against shut doors
They strike agaist them with their naked fists
We watch the windows break
And see them chase their victims´ flesh

We watch them tripping ahead
We see them bite and feed
Survivors let their knives
Drill into skulls and brains
Blood splashes, we don´t mind
No grimace can us harm
Our sofa idyll shelters us
And we eat our crunchy chips

So we see them walk and scream
And watch them bite and feed
Eating peanuts, drinking coke
We stare at them like other folks
Arrows penetrate
Grimacing skulls and brains
Intestines are cleft
Whilst no crackers are left

Nuts and crackers pass between our lips
And our heroes smash a zombie´s ribs
We watch them struggel hoping to survive
But it´s fiction not a precious life
We know they are not real
And enjoy our happy meal
We are not anxious because of them
Our cruel world is what we fear

Hans Maier - electric guitar, vocals
Harold Miller - electric guitar
Ludwig Sander - bass
Carl van der Keulen - piano, organ, synthesizer

5 Paint Them Pink   3:56

I met you on the street
All at once I found my feet
You smiled at me and warmed my heart
And I knew that nothing will tear us apart
Let us share words and senses
Let´s explore the skies of love
You´ll be free, there are no fences
Even so there´s none above
Let us speculate what life is
Tell me what you mean and think
If dark clouds mask your forehead
Let me paint them pink

Years have passed, kids have come
Went to nursery, entered school
So we try to guide them through
The madness of old-fashioned pedagogy
A balancing act is education
We seek to even where school goes wrong
Drama queens want to be tamed
But they need space to fool around
So bright days follow shadows
Life is swinging up and down
Of dark clouds mask their forheads
Let us paint them pink

6 My Heavy Wooden Door   5:42

Forty-eight steps
Lead to my place
A heavy wooden door
Separates my home
From unbidden guests
Who keep knocking on
MY heavy wooden door
Behind it I feel secure and unwatched
No one can tell me
What I got to do in my walls
How I should behave
This is my kingdom
It´s me who frames the rules
Which I could mess up only for you

Forty-eight steps
Leading straight to
My heavy wooden door
I hear you coming up
You start knocking on
My heavy wooden door
I get to my feet
I press the handle to let you through
My heavy wooden door
It´s you I´ve waited for
How I wish you will return
And many a time walk through
My heavy wooden door
I call for nothing more
Take my heart, care for me
So you will find always open
My heavy wooden door
It won´t close anymore
My heavy wooden door
MY heavy wooden door
Yous tole from me the key
So you can´t ever losose my heart and me

You won´t close anymore
My heavy wooden door
Its key you threw away
Forever you will stay

You passed my heavy wooden door
And threw away its key
I cannot lock it anymore
So you will stay with me

7 Poison Over Endless Fields   3:50

See the endless fields
Where they nuture corn and wheat
Lying in between
Settlements with schools and streets
See the children play
Till the night
Drives off the day

See the endless fields
Harvest for the utmost yields
Planes fly up and down
White clouds are sprayed onto the ground
Wind blows them around
Onto the streets, onto the schools, onto the kids

Hans Maier - electric guitar, vocals
Harold Miller - electric guitar
Ludwig Sander - bass
Carl van der Keulen - piano
Arthur Belovic - drums and percussion

8 Contrasts   3:18

Sandra started to check
The new book of Houellebecq
But I am used to read
Whodunits of the Swedes
I hear "humansm is dead"
And agree with a body found in bed
Muslim party president
And my pathologist was just sent

Such contrasts innervate
Relationships to date
Important is to talk
About ideas and thoughts
Such inputs are the salt
And pepper, but no fault
Without it´s like a plant
Thirsty for water within dry sand

So Roman Holiday
Meets zombies on some day
And Gregory Peck will act
In Terminatior´s way
Such contrasts innervate
Relationships to date
Important is to talk
About ideas and thoughts
Such inputs are the salt
And pepper, but no fault
Without it´s like a plant
Thirsty for water within dry sand

9 Town Of Mints   4:13

These narrow lanes
I used to walk
These houses skew
I like to view
This face of you

Built on a slope
WAys up and down
The pavings small
Scarce place for cars

This town is old
Past glory told
These steeples form
This face of you

Harold Miller - electric guitar

10 Favorite Place   2:47

I sit on a trunk of a forest glade
Looking down to the lake
Hot air scintillates, a hazy view
The only one I miss is you

My favorite place
Is this hidden space
Between the old trees of this hill
The steeple of the chapel still
Is watching always wide awake
So I keep looking at the lake
I miss you, wish that you was here
On this forest glade with a bottle of cool beer

11 Somnolent Eyes   3:17

I meet your somnolent eyes
Your lips fill up with a smile
You crawl in to my arms
And hug me tenderly
I feel your warmth at my chest
And cover your shoulders, your neck
A perfect way to stay
A moment I never want to miss
This is heaven, without is hell

I meet your somnolent eyes
Your lips fill up with a smile
You move into my arms
And nestle close to me
This way I want to hold
And never let you go
A moment like this is heaven
Without is hell

Hans Maier - electric guitar, vocals
Harold Miller - electric guitar
Ludwig Sander - bass

12 Narcissists   3:56

Met a dawdler, checked his stuff
Found a pier glass, high enough
Fixed it at my wall
Wasn´t hard at all
Now I can see
My favorite (that is me)

Because I like me, I like all of you
I never harm myself, so I won´t damage you
If you do not love yourself
You cannot love someone else
You think I overact
I´m no murderer that´s the fact

Take from fanatics their environment
Isolate them, keep young men away from them
Create more narcissists
No one will ever use his fists
HAte preachers will be unheard
Maybe a key to a better world

Hans Maier - electric guitar, vocals
Harold Miller - electric guitar
Ludwig Sander - bass
Carl van der Keulen - piano
Arthur Belovic - drums and percussion

13 Look At The Mess   6:29

Come on and look at the mess
You´re the one at whom I will address
What goes wrong in modern times
GEt aware of all the crimes
Committed for economy
The profit is the enemy
They poison food and cattle too
And people think their guarantees are true
But enterprises do not care
Of our health anywhere

Come on and look at the mess
You´r the one at whom I will address
What goes wrong in modern times
Get aware of all the crimes
But the tycoons do not care
Of men and animals anywhere

Come on and look at the mess
Pesticides are spread in excess
Over fields and villages
Over schools and children
Doesn´t matter if they fall ill
Doesn´t matter if they abort

Come on and look at the mess
Things are going wrong
Criminals rule too long
On the back of humanity

14 Love Song   2:35

You´re the sun of my night
You´re the moon of my day
We are made for each other
Welded together we stay
Lavish your love to me
I lavish your love to you
It is precious, it is true

You´re the sun of my night
You´re the moon of my day
Forever together
We wanna stay
We are made for each other
We are strong, have no fear
I feel safe, I feel happy
Even if you´re not here
Lavish your love to me
I lavish your love to you
Our love shall last long
Fort years and years
What has emerged between us
It is precious, it is true

You´re the sun of my night
You´re the moon of my day
We are made for each other
Welded together we stay
Lavish your love to me
I lavish my love to you
We are made for each other
We are strong, have no fear
I feel safe, I feel happy
Even if you´re not here
Our love shall last long for years
What we have created, what we have achieved
Is much more than anyone has ever believed
It is precious, it is true

15 Valse   3:56

Once my record of the day
Was a piece by Carla Bley
24 minutes of orchestral play
And her piano sends notes on their way
Starting faintly, very slowly
Orchestral instruments join in succession
More and more playing then they play full part
A valse called 3/4 painting circles
Starting slower, moving faster
Drawing pirouettes, more rapidly done
The melody´s circles get more tight
Slower faster getting faster
Faster
Faster

This valse we play for Carla Bley
Once her music made my day
I loved 3/4 on full blast
Its growing circles are part of my past
So we start it slowly, getting faster, faster
Slower, faster, getting faster

16 Paris 2015   3:24

A rosebud sky herals my new day
Misty puffs blow the dark away
See the sunrays fight
To prevail and shed their light
Upon my garden

Beam away the dark clouds
Stuck in my heart
Expel the grief
Which is hard to bare
Our sorrow is mixed with anger
No understanding, no absolution
For all this what we won´t forget
The age of enlightenment
Which we have achieved
Is threatened by rude intolerance
We have to plead fundamental rights
Like freedom of expression

Folks drop out of their homes to work
Using the métro, driving cars have become jerks
Cool air on the streets is leaving
Sun beams softly heat the streets
Spring has come one might believe

For some days PAris lost its ease
But far wrong, life will not yet freeze
They go on for love, keep their hopes
Dance as if there is nothing to cope
Although they know

We dreamt of a peaceful life
With standards like equal rights
With mutual tolerance
Between human beings
No wars anymore in the name of some god
No fights for power and land

Paris stopped this dream
Cruelties are real
Pray to Allah to stop this mania
To end erroneous doctrines

Hans Maier - electric guitar, vocals
Harold Miller - electric guitar
Ludwig Sander - bass
Carl van der Keulen - piano
Arthur Belovic - drums and percussion

17 My Inward Eye   6:41

I know well every street
Every place where we like to sit and walk
With friends we meet to chat and talk

I know well the smell of air
Between the trees, the leaves are sunshade for us
Some sunbeams penetrate the green roof
Silvery sparkling beams shed magic
Between treetrunks shadows change with light
High above we hear the faint chants of the birds
And from below bees and flies buzz and hum

I know well the mountain shape
Every ridge, every gorge forms
The silhouette engraved in my brain, in my heart as well
Even in the dark I see this line with my inward eye

I remember every street
every place where we liked to walk
with friends we met to chat and talk
Who now are much too far away

I remember the smell of air
In the forest, cooler under the green roof
When the heat of the sun lied heavily
On the trees, upon the fields and the gardens
This feeling I will never forget

I remember the mountain shape
Every ridge, every gorge formed
The silhouette engraved in my brain, in my heart as well
Even far away I see this line with my inward eye
